Marc Gurton, owner of 13Forest Gallery, at 167A Mass. Ave., announces: “After six long months, we are delighted to announce that repairs to the gallery will soon be underway. As things progress, we will have more information on our reopening, but for As of now, we can tell you that the space will be refreshed with great improvements, and we look forward to celebrating our return with you.”
On August 28, a fire that broke out next door at the Thrive Juice Cafe damaged the gallery, leading it to appear at 108 Summer St. at the Food Link Center while repairs were made to the gallery space on Mass. Ave.
A special project
Engraver Ted Ollier, right, recently completed a special order for one of our clients who was looking to have a custom piece of art made.
Alice Lim came to us with a gift idea to surprise her husband and commemorate their trip to Iceland. Lim wanted the piece to visualize the volcanic activity of the Fagradallsfjall volcano; Ollier’s interest in science and the transformation of data into art made him the perfect artist for this work.
Together with Lim, Ollier created a print that uses embossing to visualize fault lines in Iceland and orange dots to show areas where earthquakes above magnitude 2.5 have been recorded.
If you have your own special project in mind or an artist you would like to work with to develop an idea, please do not hesitate to contact us and request commissions.
