A manufacturer of expanded polystyrene products is launching a new base in Northamptonshire after acquiring a medium-sized warehouse.
Sundolitt Ltd has completed its search for a regional headquarters with the purchase of Centrix58 – a newly built 58,586 square foot unit at Centrix Business Park in Corby. Centrix58 is the final development of the 39-acre business park.
Eamon Kennedy, executive partner and head of the commercial agency at Kirkby Diamond, acted on behalf of Sundolitt, negotiating with joint agents Burbage Realty and FHP, acting on behalf of developers NFU Mutual and Clowes Developments to secure the agreement for several million pounds.
Eamon said: “I was tasked by Sundolitt last year to find a freehold warehouse of 50,000 to 70,000 square feet. It took time to find the ideal property for the business due to the well-documented shortage of industrial units throughout the region. .
“We were originally looking in the Luton to Coventry M1 corridor but had to widen our search due to lack of freehold stock. Centrix58 was initially only available for rental, but we were able to negotiate with Burbage Realty to sell the full ownership. We are delighted to have been able to complete the acquisition. This is a high quality unit in a great location and meets Sundolitt’s requirements perfectly.”
Colin Morrow, Managing Director of Sundolitt, said: “Sundolitt was delighted with the service provided by Kirkby Diamond in our search for a new unit.
Centrix58 has excellent links to the A14 and M1. It has four gates at platform level, parking for 74 vehicles and four charging stations for electric vehicles.
Sundolitt Ltd is the UK company of the Sunde Group, a highly respected leader in the manufacture of 100% recyclable EPS (expanded polystyrene) and XPS (extruded polystyrene) products.
