Aaron Rodgers and Kevin De Bruyne team up for epic jersey swap

Two of the greatest passers and playmakers in all of professional sport teamed up on Sunday as Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers crossed paths with Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. The two swapped shirts in what was an all-time jersey swap, and posed for a photo In the process.

With De Bruyne and Manchester City currently playing in their pre-season tour of the United States, the superstar playmakers were able to connect and share a great time with each other. Manchester City beat Bayern Munich 1-0 at Lambeau Field in their pre-season friendly on Saturday, giving them the chance to join Rodgers.

On the shirt Rodgers signed for De Bruyne, he appears to have written ‘Kevin, love watching you play, you’re a legend’.

The two share many similar qualities, despite playing different sports. Most notably, they are among the most gifted passers in their respective trades, with Rodgers winning back-to-back NFL MVP awards and Kevin De Bruyne being heralded as one of the Premier League’s greatest playmakers.

Last season, Rodgers threw 37 touchdown passes and just 4 interceptions while earning his fourth career MVP award. The Packers failed in the playoffs, however, failing to pass the San Francisco 49ers.

As for De Bruyne, in all competitions in 2021-22, the Belgium international has scored 19 goals and added 14 assists in 45 appearances. He helped Manchester City win their second successive Premier League title, although the club are yet to achieve their Champions League aspirations.

Perhaps it’s something that’s been discussed between the two superstars, who had phenomenal regular seasons before failing to get the job done on the biggest stages. Manchester City and De Bruyne were kicked out of the Champions League after a stunning collapse against Real Madrid in the semi-finals, something Rodgers can relate to after the Packers’ early exit in the playoffs.
