Midfielder Alfa Semedo is said to be on Celtic’s signing radar ahead of his Champions League return.
Portuguese outlet A Bola claim the Premiership champions are on the ‘front end’ in a bid to secure the Guinea-Bissau international this summer.
Semedo can play multiple roles in midfield and the interest comes amid Celtic’s search for reinforcements in the engine room.
Ange Postecoglou is believed to be fond of Lommel star Vinicius Souza but Ajax and PSV have also been linked with the Brazilian.
Semedo spent last season on loan at Reading from Vitoria Guimares, and previously traveled to Nottingham Forest and Benfica.
The 24-year-old has been capped 12 times for his country since making his debut last year.
Celtic have already secured Cameron Carter Vickers this summer and are working to tie down loan star Jota to a permanent deal.
Former Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist and Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei have also been targeted with the two current deals.
But the reported interest in 6ft 2in Semedo will intrigue fans who are waiting for new arrivals before a return to the top of European football.
