And Robinson believes retaining the former Nottingham Forest forward is the best way for the Rovers to secure a return to the Premier League, whatever offers may come to fruition this month.

In one interview with BetfredRobinson said, “He’s been exceptional this season. Scoring 20 league goals for a club like Blackburn is a great achievement.

“It’s very important that they keep him in January. He’s been linked with Newcastle as well as a number of other clubs, but it’s the best opportunity Blackburn has had to come back to the Premier League and you won’t Don’t sell your best player in January if you plan to make it there.

“The player’s value will still be the same at the end of the season if he doesn’t increase, but the value they would get by entering the Premier League and keeping a player like that far outweighs its sale.

“It is vitally important that they keep him in January and keep advancing into the second half of the season.”
