Cawarden Demolition Manager Aims For Industry Excellence

The Derby-based specialist contractor, Cawarden, has celebrated the achievement of its Demolition Manager and Board Member, Malcolm Lowes, who has become an Associate Member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) – the body professional who exists to promote and foster the science of demolition engineering.

Malcolm – who has over 40 years of demolition engineering experience – attended a special IDE graduation and awards ceremony on February 25 at the Royal Armories in Leeds to be presented with his associate’s degree.

To become an industry professional, Malcolm went through a rigorous assessment process that included a formal application, review, and face-to-face interview.

Malcolm Lowes, Cawarden’s Demolition Manager, said: “I am delighted to have completed my Associate Degree with IDE and now look forward to continuing to further my professional development and industry knowledge. to get my full IDE membership over the next 2 years. years.

During his career Malcolm has worked on hundreds of projects across the UK involving the demolition of all types of structures including bridges, high rise concrete towers, steel framed industrial units , redundant healthcare sites, dangerous buildings, complex power plants, quarries, chemicals. and manufacturing sites – and everything in between.

Whether Cawarden is working in a city center with significant space constraints, residential areas, industrial or infrastructure sites – Malcolm oversees all the key processes and procedures necessary to manage a project, safely and efficiently within the constraints. that each of these unique environments present. Together with the site teams, he ensures that each project is meticulously planned, that every detail is covered and that costs are controlled to obtain the best result.

Malcolm’s ability to build relationships with clients and contractors, his professional approach, excellent communication levels and interpersonal skills have earned him a multitude of regular contracts.
