The longest-running TV quiz of all time, The Weakest Link, will return to our screens once again tonight for a special New Years celebration.
Comedian Romesh Ranganathan will replace Anne Robinson’s legendary quizmaster role after her debut in the role last week.
Discussing his plans for the NYE, the staunch 43-year-old comic admitted, “It is an honor to be asked to bring what is fundamentally a television institution back to our screens.
“Anne was an amazing host and putting herself in her shoes is an anxiety-provoking privilege. I hope we’ve found a way to make fans of the show happy and to attract new audiences.”
The knowledge contest will see famous contestants attempt to put in as much money as possible by showing off their general knowledge – the more correct answers in a row, the more money they’ll pocket for charity at the end of the show, however. …
At the end of each round, the players will each individually elect the teammates they consider “the weakest link”, the quiz with the most votes being eliminated.
But who’s about to be on the New Years Celebrity Special tonight?
Dave Gorman – Comedian and TV Presenter
Esme Young – Judge of the Great British Sewing Bee
Patrick Grant – fashion designer and (the other) judge of the Great British Sewing Bee
