THE Chase viewers remained hysterical over the names of the candidates based on the Nativity scene.
While Teams of Four are always strangers before they film their episode, sometimes series bosses like to find a way to connect them all.
In Tuesday’s episode, viewers noticed a festive bond between the four nominees named Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle and Dave.
Their names appear in the Christmas crib with Mary and Joseph as parents of Jesus who come to Bethlehem and seek an inn.
Similar to Gabrielle, the angel Gabriel is known as the messenger of God who tells Mary and Joseph to follow the star to Bethlehem.
And Dave pays homage to the City of David in the ancient heart of Jerusalem.
Fans took to Twitter to share their fun and congratulate the cast of the ITV game show.
One of them said, “Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle and Dave (Bethlehem – the city of David). I see what you did there. “
Another wrote: “Mary, Joseph, Gabrielle and Dave played well.
A third wrote: “Joseph should have worn his technicolor coat.”
Joseph and Dave were the only contestants to qualify for the final pursuit against The Beast with £ 11,000.
The couple only racked up 11 steps – to which Joseph commented: “Shall we go home now?”
However, The Beast was out of shape today and it was a VERY close competition.
Joseph and Dave managed to outrun The Beast with just one second remaining.
They had six attempts to push back with four executed.
The Beast remarked that it was his “worst performance ever.”
He then blamed the trifle question for his loss, saying he “just couldn’t remember the diapers”.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5 p.m. on ITV and ITV Hub.
