GATE 2022 Result: GATE 2022 results are all expected to be declared next week by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. On schedule, the results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 will be announced on March 17. The GATE 2022 exam scorecards will be available for download from March 21.
Once the GATE results are released by IIT Kharagpur, all candidates can log on to the website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in and enter their required credentials to check the scores.
Validity of the GATE 2022 score
According to the newsletter, the GATE 2022 score is valid for three years from the date of the announcement of the results. No information on the GATE 2022 score will be available after this period.
“After the declaration of results, the GATE 2022 scorecards of qualified candidates can be downloaded free of charge between March 21, 2022 and May 31, 2022 on the GATE 2022 website. It is strongly recommended that an electronic copy of the scorecard scorecard is retained securely by the contestant for all future use,” read the official notice.
In case GATE qualified applicants need the electronic copy of their GATE dashboard after May 31, 2022 until December 31, 2022, they have to pay a fee of Rs 500 to get it. From January 1, 2023.
There is no provision for the issuance of hard copies of the GATE Dashboard.
This year, IIT Kharagpur organized the GATE exam 2022 on 5-6 February and 12-13 February 2022.
How to check GATE 2022 results:
- Login to GATE 2022 official website — gate.iitkgp.ac.in
- On the homepage, click on the link “GATE 2022 Result”
- Enter your credentials and click submit
- Your GATE 2022 results will be displayed
- Download it and print it for future reference.
After the evaluation of the answers, the actual (raw) marks obtained by a candidate will be taken into account for the calculation of the GATE score. For multi-session papers (subjects), the raw scores obtained by applicants in different sessions will be converted into normalized scores for that particular subject.
Thus, raw scores (for single-session papers) or normalized scores (for multi-session papers) will be used to calculate the GATE score, based on the qualifying scores.
Using the GATE Score for Employment
In the past, several public sector companies (PSUs) have used GATE scores to screen job candidates. Some of these organizations are: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI).
Direct recruitment to Group A level positions in Central Government i.e. Principal Field Officer (Tele), Principal Research Officer (Crypto) and Principal Research Officer (S&T) in the Cabinet Secretariat , Government of India, is now conducted based on GATE scores. The details of the recruitment program are normally published in National Newspapers / Employment News / Rozgar Samachar by the concerned authorities.
Some other Indian government organizations may also use the GATE 2022 score for recruitment purposes.
