Permanent Account Number (PAN) card and Aadhaar card are two important documents. You could have both. If not, you request it as soon as possible. If you have a PAN card but have not yet connected it to your Aahaar number, you must do so before March 31, 2022, as neglecting it could result in a penalty. Previously, the deadline for connecting PAN to Aadhaar was 31st December 2021, however, the deadline has been extended by the government till 31st March 2022.

If you fail to link your PAN card to your Aadhaar number, your PAN card will become invalid which will put you in trouble as you have not completed the linking within the given time. Additionally, it could also cost you a penalty of SR1,000. Also, if you are an investor, you will not be able to invest in mutual funds, stocks or open a bank account if your PAN card is not linked to your Aadhaar card.
