Tielemans sent stern warning after Arsenal transfer shock

Leicester City fans have reacted to Friday night’s shock update involving Youri Tielemans.

According to reports, City are ‘more likely’ to agree a one-year contract extension with the midfielder, after Arsenal reportedly ‘cooled down’ their interest in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

The Gunners have agreed a deal to sign Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira for £34million which means Tielemans could stay at the King Power Stadium, despite being linked with a move for almost a year .

Tielemans’ stance on new Leicester contract revealed after Arsenal U-turn

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester City could be forced to wait until September to secure the services of Youri Tielemans on an extended contract.

The 25-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his current deal at the King Power Stadium and looked set to move away from the East Midlands this summer, with Arsenal relentlessly linked with the Belgian.

However, Mikel Arteta’s transfer activity in his side’s midfield has recently appeared to change the Gunners’ stance on Tielemans. Porto have confirmed midfielder Fabio Vieira will join the squad from the Emirates Stadium for £34m, reducing the need for another central midfielder.

Arsenal supporters have shared their feelings on the latest news regarding Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans, 25, has long been admired by Mikel Arteta and looks set to seal a move from the East Midlands to north London after three seasons at City.

The Belgian joined Brendan Rodgers’ side in 2019 after a successful loan spell and has been central to the Foxes’ success in recent years – scoring the winner in the club’s first FA Cup victory last year .

Premier League duo ‘pursue’ Leicester City transfer

Two Premier League clubs have reportedly joined the transfer battle to sign Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury this summer.

The 24-year-old has struggled to become a consistent fixture in Brendan Rodgers’ side in recent seasons, with the Loughborough-born player being used as a centre-back and right-back last season to cover for injuries.

Choudhury has been linked with moves to West Brom and Middlesbrough recently in the transfer window, with his contract expiring in a year. A move away from King Power Stadium looks likely as Rodger seeks a “healthy reshuffle” of his squad.
