Mobility products manufacturer secures warehouse J28

Commercial Property Partners (CPP) has leased a modern 64,002 square foot warehouse at The Nursery in South Normanton to Pride Mobility UK Limited.

The US-based designer and manufacturer of mobility products recently acquired Nottinghamshire-based lift/tilt chair manufacturer Sitting Pretty to relocate all of its operations to accommodate future expansion plans .

Unit 2, part of The Nursery industry program, offered Pride Mobility three times the space of the former manufacturing site, with approximately 85 employees relocated to the new base, which also benefits from easy access to Jct 28 from the M1, just one mile one way.

Built in 2006, Unit 2 is a detached steel gantry unit with 10m clear working height, four dock level loading doors, two level loading doors, two story open office with a canteen and wellness facilities. Outside, the unit has a concrete, fenced and gated yard of 40 m and approximately 80 parking spaces.

Wincobank Way forms part of the South Normanton Industrial Estate, an established commercial location which has attracted many key occupiers including Eurocell, Alloga UK, Radius Systems and GXO Logistics. Road connectivity and access to a local market for skilled labor also help make the location a sought-after manufacturing and logistics base.

Sean Bremner, Director of CPP, said: “Staff retention was a key requirement for the tenant and so it was important to find a solution relatively close to their existing premises. The company is very brand conscious and Unit 2 represents a high quality building that matches the profile of Pride Mobility UK Limited.

“There was a lot of interest in the facility and we are delighted to have secured Pride Mobility UK Limited whose expansion ambitions can only be good for the region.”

Stephen Wright, Operations Director at Pride Mobility UK, said: “Thank you to Sean Bremner, CPP and the owners of the building. We were able to move into this building much faster than expected, giving us the space we desperately needed due to the rapid growth of the business since acquiring Sitting Pretty in July 2021.

“The new building gives us the space we need to move the whole operation under one roof, including shipping goods from South Normanton instead of our subsidiary Pride Mobility in Oxfordshire and, more importantly, the ability to retain all of our existing staff and their wealth of experience. rather than having to relocate the business to another region.

“From January 2023, Sitting Pretty by Pride Mobility Ltd will be running their newly refined large-scale operation from South Normanton for the foreseeable future.”
