Nevada Health Link enrolls over 100,000 Nevada residents for health insurance during open enrollment

(CARSON CITY, NV) – More than 100,000 Nevada residents signed up for health insurance during Nevada Health Link’s two-and-a-half-month open enrollment period (OEP), which ended Saturday, 15 January. With a 25% increase in enrollment over last year’s enrollment, this is the largest enrollment cohort since the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange (Exchange) began operating as a than state-based market in 2019.

Of the 101,409 Nevada residents who enrolled in health insurance plans through NevadaHealthLink.com, 20,897 were new enrollees, meaning they had not previously enrolled in health insurance through the Exchange. 27,717 were active re-enrollees, meaning they went to NevadaHealthLink.com to upgrade or change their current plan.

The success of this year’s open registration is accompanied by recent advances in the online market. This OEP, Nevadans had greater access to financial assistance, thanks to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which provided increased and expanded federal subsidies for consumers. In fact, 88% of Nevada residents who purchased insurance through NevadaHealthLink.com received financial assistance; and nearly half of all enrollees had a net premium of $100 or less.
