New One Piece Odyssey Water Seven Gameplay Trailer Showcases Memory Link Quests, Bond Arts And More; Enies Lobby teased

Bandai Namco has shared a new trailer for the upcoming turn-based A play Roleplay, One Piece Odyssey. This new video shares more gameplay footage from the previously revealed location of Water Seven, highlighting several features, such as the city tour on the Yagara.

Memory Link quests are also introduced, side events requiring specific members of the Straw Hat crew to solve the fractured world of “Hysteria” that resides within the frayed edges of “Memoria”.

Speaking of the first, Hysteria features quests that should be nostalgic for fans of the series, and completing them rewards players with team-fighting skills called Bond Arts. Additionally, each dungeon throughout the game is highlighted as unique to traverse, with distinct character-centric obstacles and challenges to overcome.

In Water Seven, players can expect multiple dungeons, including the iconic Enies Lobby. Finally, the Straw Hat Crew’s special moves are picked up through story progression, and their effectiveness can be enhanced using Cube Fragments found while exploring the gameplay.

One Piece Odyssey is an adventure RPG where players will experience a new adventure with the Straw Hat Pirates. The game will feature new characters and monster designs by Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece. Additionally, the music is handled by Motoi Sakuraba, known for the Dark Souls and Tales series.

Oda, the creator of A play, designed two original characters for this game, Adio and Lim. Several new animals were also created by Oda, such as the Dry Penguin and Leviathan. In summary, a lot of time has been spent trying to make the title feel instilled with One Piece aesthetic identity.

One facet of turn-based combat is Scramble Area Battles, featuring multiple areas where all fighters will be randomly assigned, requiring players to understand and experiment with the techniques of the cast. Another mechanic is the dramatic scene, which has a contextual impact on party members, such as Sanji’s inability to attack if women surround him.

One Piece Odyssey launches on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC via Steam on January 13, 2023.
