Tay Keith, Lil Durk and Gunna have joined forces to release their latest track, “Lights Off”, which was also touched by the magical hands of Mike Dean.
The “Sicko Mode” producer took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his text feed with Dean, who sent him the final version of the track.
The song finds Durk and Gunna gliding to the sweet, electric beat as they rap about how their jewelry shines, even when the lights are off. Keith who composed this song reflects his great work ethic, something that helped him become an honorary professor at his alma mater.
In September, Middle Tennessee State University announced the Grammy-nominated producer would receive the honor, and Tay Keith took to his Instagram to thank his former school. “From the time I struggled in class failing to get an application for record industry college to come back and become an honorary professor, you show that hard work with passion pays off,” he said. -he writes in the caption.
He later revealed that he would also begin an internship program with MTSU using their new recording studio. Complex named Tay Keith the Top Rap Producer of 2018 for his work on the year’s most popular songs, including Drake’s “Nonstop,” Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” and BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive.”
Keith and BlocBoy JB also joined forces again recently for their January joint mixtape, Tray 2 of the Block, which featured Pooh Shiesty, EST Gee and more.
