The Weakest Link fans are calling for a second series with Romesh Ranganathan

After years of absence, The Weakest Link returned recently, with Romesh Ranganathan becoming the new host and various celebrities taking to the show’s infamous catwalks to raise money for charity.

While Anne Robinson’s shoes were big enough to fill, it seems the League of Their Own host has wowed audiences, with many viewers calling for the reboot to return.

In an exclusive survey, RadioTimes.com readers said they would like a second round of Ranganathan’s Weakest Link, with 68% saying it was great.

Just 32% of viewers revealed they preferred the original, while some took to Twitter to voice their opinions, writing, “Didn’t expect to like this but I did I was pleasantly surprised.”

The original series aired on the BBC from 2000 to 2012 with Robinson as host, while Jon Briggs – who is also known as the British voice used by Apple’s Siri – was the narrator.

The Weakest Link reboot debuted on December 18 with a series of celebrity shows featuring Kay Burley, Dan Snow, Chris Packham, Tamzin Outhwaite, Ugo Monye and Ed Gamble, among other stars.

Ranganathan took over hosting duties while former Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh became the show’s new narrator.

The Weakest Link is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Want to watch something else? Check out our full TV guide or visit our entertainment center for the latest news.
