Theo Paphitis gives Chesterfield small business a boost

A Chesterfield-based small business has received a massive boost from retail entrepreneur and former Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis.

Last month, Jane Helliwell, owner of fragrance stylist and candle maker, The Scent Styling Company, tweeted Theo about her business on ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to be retweeted by Theo to nearly half a million followers on Twitter. .

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK. Theo, a business and retail entrepreneur and self-proclaimed trader, retweeted Jane’s post to his nearly 500,000 followers and as a result his business gained more social media followers, new contacts and an increase in sales.

The Scent Styling Company is also featured on the #SBS website which is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Small Business Champion and Ryman Stationery Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman Theo Paphitis said: “We are delighted to welcome new #SBS members every week and to highlight how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is for everyone who has ever earned a #SBS re-tweet from me to become members of a friendly club: like-minded people who can share their successes and learnings. The website will also provide a profile valuable to the chosen winners and I wish The Scent Styling Company every success.

Jane Helliwell of The Scent Styling Company added, “It’s fantastic that Theo has recognized our hard work and helped bring what we do to his huge Twitter following. Last week, I was able to meet him and his compatriot Dragon Touker Suleyman at the annual #SBS event. He gave us our certificates and organized a truly inspiring event.
